Autumn meeting in Svengborg
Hi everyone,
The autumn meeting in Svendborg is now approaching, and a preliminary programme is almost ready.It will be possible to arrive on Thursday, 27 August. After check-in, a traditional home-style two-course dinner will be served at 18:00. Drinks will be charged separately. After dinner, there will be a briefing about Friday’s programme, followed by some socialising — and perhaps a little something to warm the throat, who knows.
Friday’s programme is:
Start at 09:00We will begin with a ride around the South Funen islands: Tåsinge with Valdemar Castle, Siø and Langeland. We will stop by and have a look at Broløkke (www.brolokke.dk), and perhaps, if possible, have lunch there before continuing up the east coast of Langeland to Spodsbjerg, and then back across the bridges to Svendborg.
At 14:30
We will visit PS Motorværksted / Svendborg Værft (Petersen & Sørensen Værft), where Cai Larsen and Poul Sækkemose will show us around the workshops, docks, and more.After an interesting visit to the shipyard, there may be an opportunity to stop at Kammerateriet, if time and weather allow. Otherwise, we will return to Støberiet for a delicious two-course buffet at around 18:30.
Saturday’s programme is:
Start at 09:00,
when we will drive via Faaborg along small roads and continue to Odense, where we will take a boat trip on the Odense River (www.aafart.dk) from 11:30 to 12:30.
During the trip, we will have a sandwich.
On the trip, we will sail past, among other things, Odense Zoo and the beautiful villas along Langelinie.
We will turn around at Munke Mose in the centre of Odense. Don’t worry — there will be a captain on the boat.
Back in Fruens Bøge, we will continue past the Lindø Terminal and towards Fyns Hoved. We will find a good place for coffee along the way.
Afterwards, we will take the coastal road past Nyborg, Holckenhavn and Lundeborg.
Stops and breaks will be adjusted according to time and weather.
Back in Svendborg, a three-course dinner and socialising await us — perhaps with a little entertainment as well.
Sunday
Breakfast, after which we will say goodbye after some enjoyable days in Svendborg.
